Ryan Knapke has joined Collins Group Realty in the position of listings coordinator on the Hilton Head Listings Team.

He will provide complete support and assistance to broker-owner Chip Collins, who acts as the firm's sole seller-client specialist on the Island. Knapke will assist in the processing and marketing of properties listed for sale on Hilton Head.

A native of Hilton Head Island, Knapke attended Clemson University prior to completing his degree at the University of South Carolina Beaufort. He is an avid golfer and enjoys boating with his wife, Katie, whom he married in 2015, and their two dogs, Bogey and Maizy.

Mike Ivester and Kristen Brockman have joined the Heritage Classic Foundation to fill newly created sales positions.

Ivester, a resident of Greenville, joins the staff as director of corporate sales. He is responsible for expanding the Foundation's corporate sales across upstate South Carolina.

Most recently, he served as director of corporate business development at The Cliffs, a private gated golf community. Prior to that, he spent 11 years as director of sales at the BMW Charity Pro-Am, one of the premier Web.com events on the PGA Tour.

Ivester is a graduate of Appalachian State University.

Brockman fills a newly created sales and marketing coordinator position, supporting the sales team and Pro-Am operations, and focusing on the Foundation's inside sales. She joins the Foundation following an internship for the 2016 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.

In addition, Brockman interned at the Greenbrier Classic, a PGA Tour event in West Virginia. She most recently was events and operations assistant at the National Soccer Coaches Association. Brockman is a Texas native and holds a Master of Business Administration degree in sports management from Hardin-Simmons University.

  • Carolina Heritage Insurance is offering a new college scholarship for Beaufort County students.

A one-time scholarship of $5,000 will be awarded annually to a Beaufort County resident student to attend an institution of higher learning.

Margaret S. Day, a Bluffton attorney, has been appointed by the South Carolina Supreme Court to serve as a commissioner on the South Carolina Access to Justice Commission.

The Commission was created by the Supreme Court in recognition of the need to expand access to civil legal representation for people of low income and modest means.

Day's appointment comes after her service as the chair of the South Carolina Bar's Pro Bono Committee last year and her recent appointment by the South Carolina Bar president as the 14th circuit delegate to the state's Pro Bono Board.

Day will work with judges and commissioners from around the state to further access to justice for all citizens in the state.

Matt Richardson has joined Lowcountry Paver as vice president of sales and business development. In his new role, Richardson will manage paver sales and offer support to clients in Bluffton and Hilton Head and beyond.

He will work with designers, architects, installers, landscapers and builders, as well as clients.

Originally from Newnan, Ga., Richardson most recently served as vice president and branch manager for South State Bank. He has been a resident of Bluffton and Beaufort County for more than 15 years.

Lowcountry Paver, a manufacturer of pavers, pool coping and retaining wall systems, is located in Hardeeville.

Longtime real estate professional John M. Weber has joined Charter One Realty as an agent. He will be working out of the Berkeley Hall office, 1024 Berkeley Hall Boulevard in Bluffton.

Weber, who has been involved in the real estate industry since 1986, brings extensive knowledge and experience.

He was the broker in charge for Hilton Head Plantation in the early 1990s, and has sold and marketed exclusive private club communities throughout Florida, the Carolinas, and the Caribbean.

Alex Madeiros has joined the Berkeley Hall Club team as director of sales and marketing.

A graduate of the San Diego Golf Academy, Madeiros holds a degree in golf course management and operations. Born in Bermuda, he brings more than 20 years' experience in golf operations and management.

Vita Canizaro joined the The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa as its newest sales manager.

Recently transferring from The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Canizaro started her hospitality career as a corporate meeting planner in Baton Rouge and Dallas, then made the transition into the hotel industry as group sales manager and meeting and event manager.

She has worked at several locations in the South, including Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach, Ala., Marriott Bay Point in Panama City, Fla., and Emerald Grande in Destin, Fla.
