  • Collins Group Realty has added two new staff members and moved another to a new location.

Dawn Hoffman, current Bluffton Office Manager, will move to the company's main office to support the island-based listings team as a second listings coordinator. Hoffman's extensive knowledge and experience in real estate administration will be valuable in the arena of seller-services.

Vicki Collins (no relation to the Collins family) will take over the role of Bluffton Office Manager, where she will offer comprehensive support to the company's mainland specialists, while also serving as assistant to the company's marketing manager, Ashley Smith.

Collins and her husband, Scott, recently moved to Bluffton from the Chicago area, where she spent the past 14 years working in the Student Activities department of the #1 Nationally Ranked high school.

Taylor Standen, a Hilton Head Island native, joins the company as a full-time listing coordinator. Taylor will focus her efforts on the processing, logistics and marketing of properties listed for sale on Hilton Head Island.

Standen graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2016 with a B.A. in hospitality management.

Gregory Alexander has joined the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce as the Director of Public Policy & Small Business.

Alexander has served as the President & CEO of the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce since January 2009. Prior to that, he was the assistant vice president and business developer for Capital Bank in Clinton.

Alexander graduated from Presbyterian College and was then commissioned in the U.S. Army. After his tour, he served for eight years in the Army National Guard, achieving the rank of captain.

  • Dennis Elliott has been promoted to Compliance and Internet Data Exchange (IDX) Services Coordinator for Multiple Lising Service of Hilton Head Island.

In his new position, Elliott regulates real estate transaction standards (RETS), data feed compliance, membership and vendor audits.

Elliott has been with the organization since 2006, previously serving as a Member Services Associate.

Before joining HHIMLS, Elliott worked with Marketlinx, now Corelogic, as a Technical Support Supervisor. Because Marketlinx provided HHIMLS with the MLS system, Elliott was able to easily transition into his new role at HHIMLS.

A retired Navy Officer, Elliott is originally from Alabama and has an Associate Degree in Occupational Science in Information Technology.

Stephani Johnson Pauline Giron

Stephani Johnson has been named executive director for The Bayshore retirement community on Hilton Head Island, and Pauline Giron has been named director of community relations.

The Bayshore, at 421 Squire Pope Rd., expected to open soon, will offer residents upscale, rental retirement living with the added convenience of receiving personal care in their apartment. Johnson comes to The Bayshore with more than 25 years' experience in senior living, having served as a licensed administrator for skilled nursing, assisted living and independent communities in South Carolina, North Carolina and California. She also was the owner and operator for a licensed home care agency and an assisted living community in California.

Giron has 18 years' experience in senior living, include working as a licensed residential care facility administrator in California. In her new position, Giron will help lead families through the inquiry and move-in process.

Margaret S. Day, principal of Law Office of Margaret S. Day, LLC in Bluffton, has been nominated and judged by her peers to receive the South Carolina Lawyers Weekly 2017 Leadership in Law Award for her work in the legal community.

The award recognizes lawyers from across the state for their contributions to society and the legal profession.

Trey Layman has been promoted to sales manager at Covert Aire.

In his new position, Layman is responsible for growing commercial and residential sales throughout Beaufort and Jasper counties and some areas in coastal Georgia. He will implement sales goals and work with the sales team to accomplish those goals.

Layman has been with Covert Aire for three years in commercial sales. In 2015, he received an award for the highest single sale in the company. In 2016, he was named Salesman of the Year.

Prior to joining the company, Layman worked in sales with AllPrint Custom Tees & Athletics and business to business sales with Hargray Communications.

A graduate of Hilton Head Preparatory School, Layman now serves as the school's football defensive coordinator and has for the past five seasons.

  • Scott Collins has joined Charter One Realty at its Belfair office, 2 Belfair Oaks Blvd. in Bluffton, SC.

Scott moved from the Chicago area to Bluffton to pursue his career as a real estate agent. Having grown up in a real estate family, Real Estate has been a life-long passion for Scott.

As a part of the Charter One Realty Belfair office, Scott will specialize in all residential real estate in Bluffton, as well as on Hilton Head Island.
