The League of Women Voters of Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Area will hold two public candidate forums in September.
The first forum, from 5:30 to 7:30 Sept. 12, will focus on candidates running for S.C. House Districts 118, 120 and 123. It will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Lowcountry, 110 Malphrus Road in Bluffton.
The second forum will be from 5:30 to 7:30 Sept. 20 and will feature candidates running for Districts 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11 on the Beaufort County Council. It will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3001 Meeting St. on Hilton Head.
The League has prepared questions for the candidates, but the public will have an opportunity to ask questions as well.
The League is also planning candidate forums in October for Beaufort County Board of Education positions as well as Hilton Head Island mayoral and town council races.
The League encourages all Beaufort County residents who are eligible to vote to register. Deadlines for the Nov. 6 general election are: in person, by Oct. 5, at the Beaufort County Board of Voter Registration and Elections at 15 John Galt Road, Beaufort; online, by email or fax by Oct. 7; and by mail, postmarked by Oct. 8.
