Volunteers needed to help at non-profit thrift store

In response to increasing customer traffic and sales, Osprey Village Thrift Store in Okatie is seeking additional volunteers to help with store operations.

Osprey Village Thrift Store offers a wide variety of merchandise including furniture, housewares, appliances, clothing and jewelry, sporting goods, books, CDs, and toys.

Volunteers are needed for all store duties, including managing the front desk; tending the cash register; sorting, hanging, and shelving merchandise; unpacking boxes; pricing; and repairs.

Equally important, according to store manager Tori Kehrer, is engaging customers with a smile and a helpful enthusiasm.

The store opened in the spring of 2011 to help cover the operational costs of Osprey Village, Inc., a non-profit corporation established in 2008 to create resources for the empowerment, independence and social inclusion of adults with developmental disabilities.

Those interested in volunteering may visit Osprey Village Thrift Store at the corner of Highway 170 and Argent Blvd. in Okatie during business hours, Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or call Kehrer at the store, 843-645-4505.
